Web design and development for The Honest Talk

We are excited to present the new website for The Honest Talk, founded by two remarkable women, highlighting the lives and achievements of notable women.

Client

The Honest Talk is a Canadian media resource, an initiative by renowned entrepreneurs Jennifer Stewart and Catherine Clark, who have created a space for women to freely share their stories and experiences. They organize live meetings, thematic discussions, and workshops that allow women from all over Canada not only to exchange ideas virtually but also to receive support and collaboratively address current issues.

Task

The primary goal was to transform the outdated design of the existing The Honest Talk website into a modern platform that provides convenience in showcasing podcasts and articles about the achievements of notable Canadian women.

Process

The first step involved consultations with the client to identify the main needs and wishes for the new website. We identified design errors made by their previous designer and suggested improvements to enhance user experience. After this, the most exciting part began — developing the new design.

Despite the first iteration not meeting expectations, we diligently worked on the second iteration, which fully satisfied the client!

Special attention was given to integrating podcast platforms, which automates audio materials' publication and distribution process. Additionally, an advertising banner management system was developed, allowing for the customization of ad displays according to business needs and the use of special shortcodes for inserting ad blocks.

Final result

Our work results in a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing website that fully meets the client’s needs and ensures a comfortable content management experience. The new site features a user-friendly interface with dedicated sections for podcasts, articles, and profiles of notable Canadian women. Integration with other platforms allows for automated publication and distribution of audio materials. The custom advertising banner management system provides flexible ad display settings.
